What to clean a tramopline with?

Every time the trampoline is used, once the kids come inside they leave black marks on the tiles from their shoes. And if they've sat down on it their clothes get black marks on them. They wash out easy enough though. I've tried washing the trampoline mat down with washing up detergent but it hasn't helped. Any ideas?

  1. Step1

Sweep the surface of the trampoline mat with a broom to remove any debris. Be sure to remove debris from the spring rings as well. You don't want leaves or dirt to get trapped in them. The friction they'll cause will eventually damage the metal.

    Step2

Soak the trampoline mat with the garden hose. While the water sits for a bit, fill the pail with warm soapy water. You're going to want a low water to soap ratio so you'll have lots of suds.

    Step3

Crawl onto the trampoline mat and begin washing the surface. If the trampoline is smaller and you're tall, you may not need to climb on it and you can simply lean over the edges. Don't forget to wash the rings.

    Step4

Grab the garden hose and thoroughly rinse the trampoline. You're going to want to remove every last bit of soap otherwise it'll make the trampoline sticky when it dries.

    Step5

Dry the rings and springs very carefully with the towels. You don't want any moisture to stay on the metal pieces. Also dry the surface of the mat. Leave it in direct sunlight for a couple of hours to make sure everything dries thoroughly.

Since you will wash the trampoline mat outside, pick a day where you know the weather will be nice for several hours. Even better, select a sunny day since the sun will help dry the mat.

Use a trampoline weather cover when the trampoline is not in use to protect it from the elements and debris build up.

Wear shorts and a t-shirt or clothes that you won't mind getting wet.

  2. No shoes on the trampoline.
