  1. Pizza!  Americans love pizza.  Go for Italian dressing.  Everyone loves italian food.  Or Caeser dressing.  Make both and put it on the side so they can choose.

    FRENCH FRIES!!!!!

  2. How about a Burger, Fries and a coke?

  3. Do you know how to cook Indian cuisine?  I'd love you forever if you'd invited me over for dinner and cooked something authentically Indian ... I love it!!

  4. Hmmmmm... If I were going to have dinner at the home of a vegetarian who had just moved here from India, I would be disappointed if I didn't have a wonderful, vegetarian Indian meal. Cook what you make best and everyone will enjoy!

  5. i would say traditional indian food and amarican food so they know abit about your culture and it will be a conversation starter

  6. I would make a nice vegetarian lasagna with garlic bread and a salad.  For the salad include romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes and red onions with some balsamic vinaigrette dressing.  For the lasagna you can find a recipe online, but I always use the noodles, ricotta, lots of cheese and mushrooms.  Some people even put spinach in it.  Classy and relatively cheap.  Also a nice wine or sparkling grape juice.  For dessert you could make or buy a cheesecake or stick with the Italian theme and find cannolis at a bakery.

  7. you should definitely cook something authentically indian!

  8. Make a nice veggie pasta with cheese on top. yummy!

  9. I would cook whatever you do best. I am sure they will enjoy it. If you really need to get more info, go to an Indian restaurant near you and ask to see a menu that Americans like and ask what they like to order.

    Good luck

  10. Impress them with a meal that you love to cook. Something authentic so that they can get a taste of your country. Do you like aloo gobi? Its pretty common so maybe they'll like it.

  11. I don't know if you have all the stuff to make this, but I made it last night and it is really really good!  I'm not vegetarian, but this dish is and I don't miss the meat at all!  It's an eggplant curry dish by Rachael Ray.

It's worth it to go out and buy the stuff you don't have to make this...  (I'm eating it for lunch right now haha)

    Ingredients

2 tablespoons (2 turns around the pan in a slow, steady stream) extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO)

    Preparation

Heat a deep, heavy bottomed nonstick skillet over medium to medium-high heat. When the pan is hot, add oil, eggplant, onion and bell pepper. Cover pan and cook 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Uncover and add garlic; cook 1 minute more. Add tomatoes, chutney, curry, salt and broth. Stir to combine and simmer for 1-2 minutes over low heat for flavors to combine. Remove curry from heat and stir in cilantro. Ladle eggplant curry into shallow bowls. Using an ice cream scoop, scoop rice balls into the center of bowls. Garnish with lots of toasted sliced almonds and scallions or chives.

Curry paste is available in the international food aisle of markets. The paste is deep red in color and will keep several months in the refrigerator.

If you want to purchase just enough almonds to top this one recipe, check out the baking aisle of your market and look for either slivered or sliced almonds in a small 3-ounce pouch.

Major Grey's mango chutney is available under many different brand names and can be found on both condiment and international food aisles of your market.
