  1. My grandmother would always whip this little cake up.... it's a great use for extra apples, pears or even peaches...

    GRAM'S APPLE CAKE

    1/2 c. sugar

    1 egg, slightly beaten

    1 Tb. baking powder

    1 Tb. softened butter

    1/2 c. sour cream

    1 c. flour

    3-4 apples

    cinnamon & sugar

Beat first 6 ingredients well.  Pour into greased square pan.  Top with peeled and sliced apples.  Dot with more butter;  sprinkle with cinnamon & sugar.  Bake at 350 for 30-50 min.

(To an American, "tea" seems like it needs something sweet)
