What to do?? Birth Control Problem!!??

I am on the lutera birth control pill and my doctor said I can skip the sugar pills and go straight to another pack. I have skipped once and then did a new pack, and then that pack took the sugar pills. But in between I had some major spotting and cramping the first few days after I had skipped up until I finally took the sugar pills. The same thing happened the second time I tried to skip the sugar pills, about two days after I cramped and just spot, most likely until I have my period with the sugar pills.

How long is this going to happen, since my doctor said I should get used to skipping and not spot. Most people say up to three months, but it's been that long now. So how much longer, this is soooo annoying.

  1. don't skip them...you're messing with your hormones. take the entire pack, even if your doctor says not to. don't skip the sugar pills at all, that's when you're supposed to have your period. so just don't.

  2. This is the same thing that happen to me but it was for like 3 weeks straight. Sometimes your body doesn't react well with the hormones. Try another month or two, if this still persist then these pills weren't right for you. I was on sprintec for 6 months and the side effect were horrible I had to stop taking them. I'm just going to go back on the depo shot...

O Ya the suger pills has no hormones in it that's why the doctor told you to skip it, its just reminder pills

  3. Don't skip the sugar pills or this will continue to happen.  The uterus only holds about 2 oz of blood at a time and it will overflow.  Kinda gross to save it all up like that, no?

  4. Everyone reacts to pills differently. If it doesn't get better in three months, talk to your doctor about changing your pills.

  5. You have to skip the sugar pills. When you skip them you have to take the actual pills. It is very IMPORTANT to take them at the same time everyday.  If you take one sugar pill your body will try to go back to normal and give you your period.

  6. i was taking a brand that gave me my period every 3 months. my doctor said it would most likely take me from 6 months to the whole year of taking them correctly until i stopped spotting and getting periods for months at a time.

i no, im not really giving you something to look forward to, but my body never got used to not getting a period every month.

it will be different for everyone though so i do suggest sticking it out for at least another 2-3 months to see if you regulate at all a bit.
