Question:

What to do about a kitten eye cold?

We rescued a 6 week year old kitten that we found wondering sick and cold outside my parents house a few days ago. We took him to the vet the next day and found out he has pnemonia. The vet provided us with some antibiotics and kitten vitamins. Now it seems as though the poor little guy has developed an eye cold. His eyes are "leaking", so to say, some sort of slightly mucasy tears. We've been putting a watm compress on it a couple of times of day to clear up any dried up goop. He's scheduled to go back to the vet on Tuesday, in the meantime, is there anything else we should be doing to help his eye?? Also, now his one ear seems to be bugging him. The vet cleaned them when we were there, and said they were really clean and clear of any ear mites and anything like that. I'm guessing then, that the ear has something to do with fluid draining since he's sick. That's how it is with people anyway, so anything we can do to help with that? Thanks all!

  1. On gungy eyes ive always used a warm Tea-Bag, yup the ones you make a cup of tea with. It has a ingrediant in it not too sure what it is, but its realy good. Just wipe the eyes with the warm tea bag, by the next day they should be cleared up.

its safe on kittens, one of my 3 week old kittens had a gungy eye, always stuck the eye together. I used the tbag twice and its never come bck (she is 11 weeks now).

Of course if this doesnt work then she needs eye drops and antibiotics fro the vet

  2. THE VET CAN GIVE HIM  MEDICINE FOR HIS EYES..ASK HIM how to apply it i would call the vet and ask him if he can check him out  .. continue the warm compress.. i dont think i would wait i would take him to a all night emergency and have him checked  and you can feed him  stained baby food (chicken) and keep the food and you can get him some kitten milk at the pet store and feed him  mothers milk and it will keep him strong and not lose weight  but he does need to be checked out by the vet,,,,,,,,good luck and GOD  BLESS AND I PRAY THAT YOUR KITTY MAKES IT THROUGH THIS TERRIBLE SICKNESS.........
