What to do about deformed dog nipple?

My brother rescued a dog and her nipple hangs about 4 inches and is ball shaped at the bottom. Does anyone know what he can do? Can we tie a rubber band around it and let it fall off eventually? he really does not have $ for vet..

Don't do that, just save up money for the vet.

You need to take her to the vet, if she was found by your brother than she needs to be vet checked any way.  Not just for her but for your safety as well.  If she came for a shelter, what did they say?  If you got her from there I would call them and ask what can be done.  They will usually have a in house vet and they can check her out and may not cost you a penny.  The rubber band thing, NOOOOO that is a awful way of doing any thing to a dog it can get infected not only that it is torture to this poor animal.  You can get in major trouble for doing this as well it is not humane.

No you cannot tie a rubber band around a nipple.. You will cause serious problems if you try stuff like that. Save up and take the dog to the vet for vaccinations and get the vet to check the nipple. If you don't have money to pay the vet, then perhaps it wasn't a good idea to rescue the poor dog.

See a vet!!! NO do not tie a rubber band around it!!! She needs to see a vet. My vet took out some lumps in my dogs teats when she was spayed.
