I just had a tonsillectomy, had my adenoids removed, and my deviated septum corrected. Obviously i am unable to breath from my nose but i am also having difficulty breathing from my mouth due to my throat being somewhat swollen and my uvula being very swollen. when i lay down i frequently choke on it. I am very tired and would like to go to sleep but am afraid i will suffocate if in the middle of the night because of this. I am on antibiotics but they are net helping with the swelling. I have also been given pain killer called Hydorocodone but i do not want to take it yet because it will make me sleep. please help me ASAP.

  1. Hi, horrible feeling hey. Take some Periactin an anti-histamine, if any Homeopathis are available, Belladonna and Arnica. gargle with tea tree and rock salt no swallowing of course.

    good luck

  2. You could try to get something that will help with your breathing like the patients that suffer with sleep apnea where their uvula stops them from breathing properly, and therefore they have a disturbed sleep.

  3. If you are having trouble breathing, please call your surgeon. Did they tell you that the swelling would be this bad?
