Question:

What to do about small teeth?

My teeth are straight (had braces), but they seem too small. I have to smile really big just to get them to show in pictures. It actually seems like I don't have enough gums or something... it's hard to explain. When I talk, my teeth don't show at all and my mouth appears smaller than a normal because of this.

Anyway, all of this really bugs me -- especially after seeing candid photos of me at a recent wedding. So, what should I do? Would something like Invisaline be right for me?

Additional info: I'm 24, male, in great health.

  1. Some people have really long teeth, some people have a very "gummy" smile, some people have little teeth. It's okay. If it really bothers you though you can get crowns or veneers on the anterior (front) teeth. If I were you I would go in for a consultation with a local dentist who is credible. He'll probably have his assistant take a couple of impressions of your teeth and make models of them. Then they'll do what's called a wax up of your teeth. This is where, with wax, they kind of design your smile. They will probably say it's best to go from canine to canine with the crowns or veneers (based on your bite they'll decide which is best for you). They may choose to do the bottom ones as well, although that is risky. Anyway, hope this helps, feel free to ask me anything else regarding your situation, I'll be happy to help!
