Question:

What to do about this kind of harassment?

There is a boy in my high school who has some kind of intellectual disability. He is at a high functioning level and attends some mainstream classes. Today I found out that another kid has been trying to get him to go and spit on other kids heads. I know that he knows that it is wrong, but I have worked with kids with intellectual disabilities through Best Buddies and I know that many of them are eager to please the other kids to be accepted. This is obviously incredibly wrong, but I'm not sure exactly how to go about informing the administration about what has been going on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!

  1. Go to his case manager, the special education department head or your principal and let them know.  And, good for you for looking out for his well-being and for caring enough to not allow him to be an easy target.  :)

  2. well you need to definitely let some one know about whats going on cause i could get worst them kids could probably get him to do worst things to an other kid and its very wrong what if they tell him to kick or fight someone and they are pretty stronger than an normal kid that could really hurt someone so go ahead let  some one know before  it gets worst

  3. Go to his special ed teacher ASAP and discuss this question with her

  4. You should go to the school counselor and ask for advice. It's not your place to counsel the other student but the counselor can help you cope and figure out how you should react and maybe the counselor could call the other student(s) in some time to talk to them about it.
