  1. Tell yourself that nothing will happen. The chances of getting struck by lightning are very low.

  2. Enjoy a glass of wine.

  3. OK..  dear why dont you just face your fears. The only way to dissolve fear is to walk right up to it.  Face your fear safely, of course. Don't put yourself in danger during a thunderstorm. anyway.. music might help you sleep through a thunderstorm, but avoid using your iPod. These small machines can draw a more powerful current from lightning.

    and these might help you to sleep:

    Steps:

       1. If you know it is going to storm that night, get really, really heavy blankets and big pillows.

       2. When it starts to storm, do something calm, like read a book, until it is time for you to go to bed.

       3. See if you can fall asleep without needing the pillows or blankets.

       4. If you can't, get the big pillow and put it over your head, leaving a small breathing hole between the pillow you are laying on and the pillow on your head.

       5. If you still can't fall asleep, put the blanket over the pillow, still leaving a small breathing hole between the pillow you are laying on and the pillow and blanket on your head.

       6. When a thunderstorm wakes you up, just do the same thing.

       7. Don't be afraid, that'll just keep you up!

       8. Try not to think about the thunderstorm. You won't get to sleep if you're thinking about the thing that is keeping you up!

       9. Try to think about calm things, such as what you are going to dream about, or about having a sunny day tomorrow. This will distract you from the storm.

    good suggestions are:

        * Try to fall asleep without anything on your head, blankets, pillow, a radio...

        * If the noise of thunder disturbs you, try using noise blocking ear plugs.

    Things You'll Need

        * Heavy pillows

        * Heavy blankets

  4. Keep yourself occupied.  Turn on the radio to drown out the thunder and keep busy.  Before you know it the storm will have passed.
