My wedding is scheduled for October 4th. However, my fiance runs cable lines and does repairs. So because of Gustav he now has to work 7 days a week from 7am-7pm. Depending on how long this takes they may be running into the wedding! I do not want to elope or anything of the sort and I am not sure what to do. Everything is planned and ready to go!

  1. Hi.  Oh my.  Do they think it will be another whole month?

Well, he needs to talk to his supervisor ASAP.  I mean....c'mon...things have been planned.  I would think any reputable company would give a person time off for a wedding.  I mean....everyone is human and has a "life" outside of work.

So....tell him to speak with his company and supervisor immediately.  Tell them of his date and see what can be worked out.

Good luck to you and I hope you have a beautiful wedding ON October 4.

  2. try to remember that the marriage is the important part, not the wedding, try to go with the flow and do the best you can to prepare for anything that may come along.  Trust me, there never was a wedding that it didn't seem like nothing was ever going to go right.

  3. Respectfully, I don't see a problem.  This wedding date has been planned and your fiance needs to address this matter with his boss asap so that he doesn't run into any problems.

  4. surely they will give him the day off to get wed?

You need to discuss this now with him.

  5. Blame GOD! How selfish can one human be!?

  6. Can you still have the wedding but postpone the honeymoon?  Surely his boss would let him have at least the afternoon off to get married?  Especially if he is willing to postpone the honeymoon...

  7. They cant make him work on his wedding day. Especially if this was planned before Gustav. I think Cox or whoever it is will understand and bring in a stand in.

I feel your pain, my husband works in New Orleans and he had to go back last night.now he will be working 7 days 16 hour days. I miss him already.

    CONGRATULATIONS

  8. I'm sure with almost a month in advance, he needs to go to his boss and hand him a invitation.  I really need this day off.  We can postpone the honey moon, but everything else is paid for. My wedding plans came before Gustav.  I'm sure that his employer will make accommodations.  Good Luck
