What to do after a dog bites?

Question

at 6pm i sent the dog to the veterinary and have her shot with Canigen DH A2 PPi/ LR Virbac

then after 3 hours while mom was preparing the food, the dog's teeth touched the skin but left no blood. I believe it is a level 2 bite according the some websites.

how many hours will the shots be effective? It's with anti-rabies.

Better get yourself a tetanus jab asap to be on the safe side!

If the skin didn't break, there is no danger of anything. By the way, regarding an answer above, a dog that softly bites a bit like that must not be put down at all. even a dog that bites hard must not be put down, he must be trained. It is our responsibility, not his.

As for bites with wounds, with blood, for future reference, you cleanthem well with soap and water. No need to worry about rabies if the dog is healthy, even before he's had his shots. You just need to watch it for 10 days. If he gets sick with rabies and dies within 10 days, you should worry of being infected with rabies yourself. If not, you're fine.

As for the wound, you clean it, disinfect it, have a tetanus shot just in case (unless you have been vaccinated)and some doctros prescribe antibiotics for 4 days as a precaution.

if the dog didnt pierce the skin your fine  but if your still concerned go see a dr.

your mom should be ok ask the vet for advice and why would she bite your mom it sounds like she wanted her attention she wasnt biting her to be mean

If it didn't pierce the skin there's little/no risk of infection.

You don't say if the shot was an annual booster - if that's the case the dog should still be protected under the previous shot. Check the vaccination record then you should know if the dog was still covered by the previous shot or not.

i'm sorry i love animals, i'm or was a dog groomer, i've wroked in a hospital and i think that your dog should be put down if its trying to bite people. especially ones it knows!

as this puppy is ONLY 3 months old then it won't have been a meaningful bite it probably just wanted some attention or maybe even some food as you say your mum was preparing food.  she was probably just saying she was hungry and she wanting something to eat dont worry to much about it at only 3 months they do that sort of thing as puppies but the do grow out of it.

as for it biting your mum if it didnt break the skin then she will be fine. dont worry

If the dog's teeth went into your skin, the best thing would have been toe get a tetinus shot, disinfect the wound and cover it up. But seeing hat there was no blood, I dont think you  need to worry.
