  1. Well you could definitely stay in Paris for more than a day or two and have a great time. The Louvre by itself ("loove") is interesting even for that long. However, Spain and Italy are also awesome.. I've personally been to Venice and Lake Como. Venice I would highly recommend, it's beautiful. Also lived in Spain and it was my favorite place. If you go to Spain I'd recommend stopping in some of the Mediterranean beach towns either in Southwest France or Northeast Spain. Greece is also beautiful, and London and Amsterdam are both pretty close, fun, and cheap to get to (like 3-5 hours on the train for either of the from Paris.)

  2. Five days is not anywhere near enough time to see Paris and with such a small amount of time it seems a shame to waste some of it repacking your bags, getting to the train or airport, traveling to another city, finding your next hotel, unpacking and getting settled in etc. etc.

Paris is a city that is best seen at leisure.

Its a place to put your map in your pocket and just wander around checking out street markets, the omnipresent excellant architecture, discovering little out of the way restaurants.

It is a place for  sitting in a convivial cafe and having a cup of coffee or glass of wine and people watching or stolling along the Seine at sunset and just drinking in the beauty of what many people think is the most romantic city on earth.

The Paris experience shouldn't be rushed. It needs to be savoured. Do that and you'll be glad you did.

  3. With only 2 days to spare you really haven't time to go to another country.

Why not try some day trips from Paris?  Orleans, Chartres, the Channel coast.  Or catch the TGV (fast train) which will take you any number of places in just a couple of hours eg  Strasbourg which, being near the border, could almost be considered in another country.

  4. If you want to know the real Paris it takes you more than 1 or 2 days.

Don^t go to Italy, Spain or the rest of France is a lot more interesting and nicer

  5. I agree with the above. 1 or 2 days in Paris would be a shame. There is more than enough to do/see to fill 2 months. Paris is a beautiful city with a great atmosphere and very nice sights and dining. To quote my LP, "if you've got only a couple of days in paris (bad decision that)...".

While I recommend seeing Italy (tuscany!) and Spain as well, you will spend far too much time and Euros trying to see other countries in such a short period.

I would venture a day trip as far as Versailles OR Senlis,OR fountainbleau (suburban train, bus, commuter train respectively). As far as your budget..start saving it's not too cheap but worth every single euro. Congrats and have a great time.
