What to do as a cashier?

Hi!

I work as cashier in the Canada Safeway; so every time i'd work; i always get to work in the express which is 15 items or less...

So i really don't like it because customers are really rude; they'd always ask to lower the price... which seemed to be really high on their receipt... And i would have to explain to them that every thing that is on sale; it come down with the Club card...

But on the big till; we get lot's of work to do but customers are nicer than on the smaller till...

And i know sometimes i make mistakes but it happens to everyone...

Like yesterday, i forgot to give to a customer his/her 5 dollars back; so he/she went to the customer service to complain about it but he/she mentioned the person who was working on this till...

So i was feeling guilty but i know i did commit an error so the next time i'll pay a good attention to all that things...

Right now; i'm really feeling bad and guilty for forgetting to give the 5 dollars to the customer...

There's a lot of bad and good things happening while working at Safeway...

  1. Sounds like this may be your first job - just the learning curve and we all learn from our mistakes like you said - you will be more careful next time. So forgive yourself and move on - but keep exploring what you really would like to do for a living or you will be a cashier forever.
