What to do as a defender in soccer??

What do defenders in middle soccer do. Should they be able to run a lot? Any drills for defenders in middle school? How aggressive should a defender be?

Concentrate, watch where people are making runs and try to anticipate it. If someone is shooting and you have your back to goal, do not turn, instead take it to the face, chest whatever or else you will let in a lot of own goals.

Don't dive into tackles unless absolutely necessary, be patient and what for them to move first and then get a foot in.

Head the ball out as far, high and wide as you can, for a throw in if possible. Don't be afraid to concede throw ins and corners if you have to.

If your man marking, tug their shirt lightly at the bottom to let them know your around, get as close as possible and rub your genitals on their leg, Claudio Gentile style.
