Question:

What to do at night instead of drinking & partying?

When my boyfriend & I first met, we were both party animals & we partied our assses off. After nearly 3 years, we've settled down & are actually tired of the party scene... whenever we go to the club/bar now, we get bored & go home early.

Now the problem is, we can't think of what else to do at night when we get the "itch" to go out. If we give in to the itch, we'll just get bored & go home.

We stopped playing World of Warcraft, so what the heck else is there to do in the big city (Houston, TX) or even at home??! (btw, our apartment is too small to have people over)

  1. It can be hard to think of things to do, and you may think some of my ideas are cheeeezy but here's a few suggestions:

movies, card games, a nice long evening walk?

  2. My boyfriend and I try to make it a plan to go 'out' every other friday night, dinner and then usually a bar for a few drinks. We find some friends, go to some pretty small, laid back places and just play pool.

We go out sometimes by ourselves just to play pool, when we do get that feeling, but our out time is usually limited because of his 3rd shift job.

Do you guys have board games? sounds kind of simple, but its easy to get caught up in a game of risk with a bottle of wine, or a 6 pack. We also have another couple over once in a while to play games, and we've fired up my old super nintendo from when I was little. Monopoly when played on SNES gets pretty aggressive. If we absolutely positively need to go out of the house, and don't feel like drinking or being in a loud bar... we're so nerdy, we'll think of all of the things we could possibly need at the store (dental floss... mustard... socks) and head off to walmart. Walmart late at night is always entertaining, and we get our shopping done. Then we go to a diner for desert and then we're usually tired.

Those are the things that we do, now that we're out of our 'party every night' phase.

  3. night in, watching movies, being all relationship-y and cute :)

    go to a movie.

    dinner.

    shop.

    go to new places.

    cook/bake together.

  4. go rent some movies-that used to be one of my fav things to do

play some board games...manopoly is always fun and are you smarter than a fifth grader

    play cards

drink at home...or a friends house and play games like quarters and other drinking games.

Hope this helps. Have a wonderful day and good luck with everything :D

  5. You might find this a bit boring given your party past, but how about rent a movie or go out to see one when you get the "itch" . Go out for romantic meals together or cook together. Take baths or showers together. If neither of you is a sore loser, play some board games or card games. (we play poker on x-box)

  6. I'm right there with you...

go out to eat just the 2 of you or with friends, go bowling, go to the movies, have a picnic under the stars, go for a walk, go shopping, watch TV or a movie at home, cook, exercise, play a different game, try something new, play miniature golf, go swimming, maybe something artistic that you both can do like photogrpahy or painting, play tennis...thats what we do!

  7. Do you ever go to movies, concerts, exhibits, museums or parks? At a local college here there's a planetarium for star gazing. Use your imagination.

  8. Have you tried bowling?  When my guy first suggested it I thought, "oh my gosh?  Bowling?  Isn't that for old boring people?"  But it is SOOOO much fun!  Especially if you go cosmic bowling!  I think if you try it you'll really like it!

  9. Miniature golf can be fun ... midnight bowling (they usually have special games late at night at bowling alleys ) ... go to a rodeo ... go to an arcade and play games  ... just go out for ice cream.......  remember all the things you liked to do as a kid?

  10. bowling

    movies

    book readings

    bingo

    people watch at the mall

    paint balling

    roller skating
