  1. Activities, crayons for the kids.

Rent a photo booth so people can take pictures or even say record mini speeches for you guys.

You can make it entertaining by getting a family member to do stand up comedy about love and marriage.

Do a slide show (some photographers offer it for free). Just add some fun into it all and don't make it very serious or dramatic.

You can make a game or contests to win the centerpieces.

You can get stained glass pieces (no sharp edges) and get a couple of metallic glass pens and have everyone write on the glass pieces and hang it on a tree or some other sort of hanger for you.

You can have the kids sing a little song

    Karoke?

Have an elder who everyone knows (like your dad/uncle or his dad/uncle) read a list of prayers but in a humorous style. Like: "I pray that he will always bring you a cup of coffee in the mornings and not nag when you want extra milk".. and he can have the last prayer/hope more sincere and sweet. :)

    All the best!!!

  2. Don't even bother.

The whole point of the reception is to eat and mingle and catch up.  Your guests will entertain themselves.

  3. Most people will enjoy simple chatting, listening to the music, and having a delicious supper/lunch/cake/whatever. You could do a slideshow with photos and music, but don't worry too much about it. You don't have to provide constant entertainment.

  4. Sounds a bit like my wedding--you're going to be busy mingling and trying to talk to everyone, I wouldn't worry about games or activities.  We ended up hiring our ceremony pianist to stay and play music through the reception but we were going to go the ipod route.  We did have a photo slideshow playing at the beginning of the ceremony so our guests wouldn't be bored as we were finishing up taking pictures.

Really, your guests aren't expecting to be entertained, they'll just want to visit with you and say congrats.  Don't stress!

We also had our maid of honor and best man do toasts at the reception.

  5. Guests want to eat, drink, and socialize...not be entertained. Forget the party games....it's a wedding reception.

  6. Hi and congratulations!

Really, I agree with the others.  Forget the games.  Your guests simply want to mingle amongst themselves, eat, drink, and talk to the bride and groom!  They do not need to be entertained!  I have never been to a wedding reception where games were played.

I don't think it's necessary, but if you want to.....then by all means go ahead.
