I live in Vancouver bc and I am looking for ideas to get out of the house. My husband works 8-5 each day, so it's just my 8 month old son and I all day. We go to a mommy and me group once a week. I just feel stuck in the house. We go for walks and go shopping but it doesn't seem that enjoyable. I need to get out of the house and have some fun with my son. Any suggestions?

  1. Think of every place you have ever wanted to go around your house, local shops, museums, parks, etc. and take every other day and do them. Also libraries usually have story time or the like for children. Check the local paper too.

  2. how about a run then a friendly little coffee run maybe even visit some friends on the way!

  3. Try talking to the ladies in your mommy and me group, cause there's a great chance they're feeling the same way you are.  Maybe you can start getting together outside of the group and spending more time togehter.  It'll be great for the kids, a little play mate, but more than that, it'll enable you to have some adult conversation as well.

  4. how about a park w/ a play ground

  5. You have to be creative! Babies that age love the swings at the park, and that can also be a great place to meet other Mommies. It`s always great to have a few friends with children the same age, so try to form a connection with another Mom if you can. Other than that, if your son is well behaved, you can take him pretty much anywhere! Some movie theatres have daytime screenings for mommy and baby, so that could be fun (and if you`re anything like most Moms, you haven`t been to the movie theatre in a while!). Also, festivals and other community events are great. I used to go to outdoor concerts whenever one was around... babies love music! Just use your imagination and you will think of things.
