My little girl turns 1 in late October. My home is not large enough to have a party. I was thinking of doing a party at a park, however i wanted it to be themed. Any ideas? Keep in mind we live in FL. where it can be somewhat warm for costumes.. ps: her room theme is lady bugs, so we thought outdoors-dress up as bugs??? please help...

  1. When i was little we would do little tea partys so u could do that in a park.

  2. If your little girl is only one the party doesnt need to be huge because they wont remember it.  I would make a carrot cake ( or buy one) and ave some other friends over like if she is in a play gruop or something and have the parents come to and that is all you need

    Good luck

  3. awww the ladybug i deal is so cute i would go with that play games have like bug desserts like dirt puddin with gummys in it yum!

I love this website. We are doing and out door party in September (we are in AL) We are doing the lil' princess for her 1st.

They have so much cute stuff and all you have to do is buy the basics and then go to the dollar store and get coordinating (extra plates, napkins, table clothes) to go w/ it.

  5. Actually, most costumes are fairly lightweight, and, I'm sure parents would keep that in mind considering the area you live in:) ....My birthday is also in late October, and I had a Halloween party every year:)  I liked that tradition:) .....A park should be fine.  You don't really need any organized activities, since 1-yr-olds are too young for that.  Just an area with toys for them to play with  .....  You can get cupcake cakes at your local grocery bakery in the shape of a ladybug, and they're perfect to serve little kids;)   There are packs of 5-6 disposable tippy-cups at the grocery store, which are good "goody bags" for that age; put a package of teddy grahams or fruit snacks into it .....  Maybe use alot of red balloons, and make the black head, line & dots on the back with felt-tip markers;  red & white checked tablecloths;  red paper products.....

  6. Your little one wont know it's her birthday.  Keep it simple and maybe invite close family and friends.  If you want to do lady bugs..just do black and red balloons and make sure your guests are happy and well fed.

  7. I think the bug idea is cute.  Your little girl can be dressed as a lady bug or at least in a red outfit. You can have coloring pages of bugs that you found online or other crafts, here are some ideas. http://www.daniellesplace.com/html/bugs....

    Hope it helps!

  8. Well i think the ladybug idea is cool, mabey you and some others could do a play for her.

  9. Maybey you could go to a friends house. I don't think dressing up as bugs would be a good idea. Little kids are so picky when It comes to clothes. Maybey a barny theme or something off on tv.

  10. To be totally honest, while the room idea sounds adorable, using this as the theme for a party for a one year old sounds a bit off to me, especially if you've invited others besides family.

I would not want to get dressed as a bug (or dress my kid up as a bug) for a one year old's party.

For someone this young, I'd forego the theme unless it's just for decorations.  A simple cake (with appetizers for adults) is really more appropriate at this age.
