I'm currently job less so I don't have much money but I wanted to do something special for my husband for our 1 year anniversery after our wedding. I thought about "re-creating" our meal from the wedding and making a sound track of the wedding songs I remember(don't remember too many of them though!) but I don't know what else to do. I don't feel like that's enough to show my appreciation and love, besides s*x.

  1. The 1st wedding anniversary is the paper anniversary.  My husband and I were broke on our first anniversary too so we just did small gifts -- it was so cheap.

He found a website where you can have a book created.  It puts your name and your spouses name into a cheesy romance novel, prints it out as a soft cover book and sends it to you -- I got a kick out of it. :)

What I did for him:  On our wedding day, he serenaded me with  "The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra.  Everyone got a big kick out of it, especially me who cried through most of it!!  Anyway, I purchased the sheet music (it was like $5) online and printed it out.  Then, I bought a giant frame and framed all the sheet music.  It still hangs in our bedroom. :)

Another cute idea would be to purchase a leather journal ($20 or so) for all your anniversaries to come.  Each year, you make an entry into the journal about what you got for each other and how you celebrated!  You can keep it forever and look back in 60 years. :)

I love your idea about recreating the dinner, that's sweet.

    Good luck!

  2. my first anniversay is on september 15. I do not have a job either. I am a stay at home mom. My plan is to take him to a nice hotel with a hot tub in the room. $90 a night. My hubby puts me in charge of shoping so every week that i go out I buy something else for that night. I have bought lotions, oils, candles, a romanic CD....etc....Before we go to the hotel we are going to dinner.

The hotel I chose is facing a river. We are going labor day weekend so they will be shooting fireworks off over the water. :)

Its not going to cost too much money and since I have bought most things through out the months...it evens out. Good luck and have fun
