My OH's 40th is in December. We are based in London. Can anyone think of somewhere really nice to have lunch or spend the day/weekend in London/South East.

I know there's lots to do, but what would make it really special. Problem is we can't rely on the weather in December.

Thanks.

  1. how about going to TGI fridays good food and great cocktails, then take her/him on the wheel. we did this in feb one year and loved it.

  2. If it were me I'd book her a surprise weekend somewhere like Paris, it needn't be expensive and she would get a real buzz from it....unless she's french that is!

alternativly Brighton? hmm doesn't have the same ring to it when she's boasting to her mates :)

  3. go to a strip club! oh yeah!

  4. Why not treat him to a really really special lunch at The Connaught Hotel, where the head chef is Angela Hartnett MBE - former protege of Gordon Ramsay and a marvellous cook.  Only for something amazingly good - you can book to eat at the chefs table - ie downstairs inbetween the two kitchens.  Get to see how the kitchens of this top michelin starred restaurant actually works.  Work your way through seven courses, each introduced to you by the chef that prepared it, sample different wines with each course.  It's a truly wonderful treat.  If expensive! But then it is his 40th.
