  1. Well, sorry i dont know that place...Wish that you could get a safe trip... good luck!!!

  2. Hi there,

HCMC is a wonderful place.   There's so many to see.  I was there in Jan 08 and Ill be returning on April 2nd.

In HCMC, you have to vist Cho Ben Thanh, which is located in District 1.  Cho Ben Thanh is the most popular market in HCMC.  It was built by the French, so there's also history behind it.  You will find everything there, from clothing to food.

A restaurant that you must try in Vietnam is a place called Quang An Ngon, which is also located in District 1.  Every traveler must stop here a least once.  Amazing traditional Vietnamese food at a very reasonable price.

At night time, I would go to the Pham Ngu Lao area, which is also located in District 1.  Here you will find a lot of local bars where a lot of expacts hang out.  Have a Tiger beer, and people watch.

The next day, buy a ticket to go to Vung Tau.  The ticket cost about 10usd for round trip.  This ticket will provide you a boat ride from HCMC to Vung Tau, which is a beach area.  The ride is about 45 mins long.  Once you get to Vung Tau, hang out at the beach, eat some seafood, drink fresh coconut, get a tan, and maybe even go out for a swim.   The beach is very clean, and absolutely gorgeous.  You will also enjoy the boat ride as well.

I could go on and on, but these are some of the places you must vist.

    Other suggestion

Catholic Church off of Dong Khoi st

Courthouse off of Nguyen Hue St

    Diamond Plaza

    China town in District 5

    Buffet at Rex Hotel

Hue Restaurant off of Nguyen Hue St

Cu Chi Tunnel 45 mins from HCMC only 4USD for round trip

Mekong Delta 1 hr from HCMC only 8 USD for round trip

Good luck, and have a safe trip..

  3. is it the first time you come? be careful of the traffic!

here is the local travel agent in HCMC: http://www.sinhcafevn.com/ that is considered reliable and resonable in prices, from it you can join the 1 day tour 2 day tour to places around HCMC. umm I am living in HCMC and actually HCMC doesnt have many good places to go... hope you enjoy your holidays!

    Anyways, welcome to Vietnam!

  4. day 1

explore hcmc and visit all the tourist attractions there.

    day 2

buy a day trip to cu chi tunnel and temple visit (abt usd8)

    day3-4

buy a 2 day trip to mekong delta - it is a good experience to see how people live there and see the activities in mekong delta like cantho and mytho. you will have the chance to experience homestay, tropical fruit orchard, explore the natural canals, giant cat fish  and many more.

alternatively you can buy a day tour of mekong delta for a day but you wont experience much.
