What to do for a anniversary besides party?

My grandparents anniversary is in a week or two and it's their 60th so it's a big deal. We can't have a party because my parents don't want to spend a bunch of money. But we want to give them a good trip like to somewhere simple or a dinner .... something that will make them feel really special not just a basic gift

Any ideas?

  1. you can give them a gift certificate to a really nice restaurant.

  2. A cruise is always fun.  Look on vacationstogo.com and you will see that they are reasonably priced.  If you live within driving distance of a port it's even better.

  3. For my grandparents anniversary, the kids and grandkids replicated some of grandma and grandpa's first meals together. Each dish was brought out by a different family member with a rose. Out of towners called to send best wishes throughout the dinner. At the end of dinner, the golden couple were given a scrapbook containing pictures from the last 60 years. Priceless!

Make the meal simple. Family members can enjoy a pizza together in another room while your grandparents dine on classic dishes!

  4. You know, most grandparents who have been married 60 years, don't want STUFF, they enjoy their memories.  One of the best things we did for my folks was had their friends write letters to them, had the letters bound into a scrapbook with pictures of my folks, and then gave them the scrapbook.  They still love it, to this day.

  5. My friend did this for her grandparents once.

How about taking them out to a sweet and simple restaurant? Remember, it should remind them of the great times they had together and that are yet to come. Make it a special day and stay as a family. This dinner should be a surprise and maybe somewhere both of them like to go. It'll remind them of the old days.

As a gift, you could give them a scrapbook of the memories and special times both of them spent together. I did this for my parents once. It shows that: "through thick and thin, we will always be together."

    Hope I helped! =)
