What to do for a friends Birthday Party?

My Best Friend wants to go out for birthday. Don't want to go bowling or just sit at a bar. Need some ideas on what to do?

Do you have any of those activity centers near you (like a Jillian's or something) or check local listings to see if places have wine tastings or somet sort of event that is a one time basis and then you can always go out to eat.
