  1. Wash thorougly with bleach before repainting.

  2. Black mold can cause alot of health problems. Its is proffered to let professionals look after it. If you want to try it yourself, make sure you have a mask on that will filter out mold spores. Where is the mold growing? On wood or drywall? You need to remove the source of moisture otherwise it will keep coming back. Seal off the area with plastic so that if you disturb the mold, it will not spread throughout your home. Professionals use a negative air generator to pull the air out of your home to the outside. They also wear protective suits so they don't get contaminants on them.

Don't underestimate the health consequences of dealing with this stuff without adequate protection. In many cases, just leave it alone and let the pros deal with it. Disturbing the scene could land you a chronic respiratory problem.

If you absolutely must do this, bleach will do the trick.

  3. Wash with hot soapy water till cleaned off. You may want to wear some rubber gloves while wiping it off. Paint/spray paint with Kilz primer before painting with ordinary paint. The mold is possibly growing where it is damp/humid. Keep the room as dry as possible, this will stop the mold from coming back.

  4. I know someone who had this problem on painted bathroom walls. They tried £100s of products including paints and preventative products. In the end they discovered a cheap MIRACLE cure - Dettox/ Dettol Mold and Mildew Remover. Green spray bottle found in supermarkets near the other bathroom cleaners etc for about £3. It smells really strong, wear old clothes and cover carpet as it can drip and leave bleach marks.  Spray very liberally on the whole surface and the mould literally melts away. Wipe over with a cloth. Best of all the mould simply doesnt come back again! Theirs used to come back within days of cleaning but after using this it hasnt returned for over 6 months!! I am 100% confident this would work for you too! ( I dont work for Dettol lol!)

  5. It's easily wash off walls etc. ... it comes from humidity .. so keep the places it grows DRY.

  6. Cleaning this right away is very important.  Bleach will kill it.  Also you need to figure out why you are getting black mold growth.  It grows in a warm moist environment.  It is common when there is leaking (from roof, in walls, from pipes)  Find the source .

  7. Hi, is it toxic mold? if so you need to get out asap!!!!!! i got brain damage from toxic mold and now my life is f$#@^ up!!! this stuff is a killer

  8. The thing we've used is a solution of bleach and water.  1/4 cup bleach to a spray bottle of water.  Go around and spray everywhere (especially the windows). Once you're done, go around again (this time with rubber gloves!) and wipe it off with a rag soaked in the same solution.  It kills it almost immediately.
