  1. Ive been depressed for years and nothing worked for me until i tried cymbalta 60mg daily, it has helped ,e tremendously. I have had only a handful of days in the past 2yrs that Ive been on that were bad, but other then that, I'm back to my normal self. You might suggest that to your doctor. Hope this helps

  2. I haven't taken any anti-depression drugs so I can't say first hand but I like to tell people about a site that has helped me a ton, dailystrength.org.  They have a great treatment section that lists people who are taking a specific drug who you can talk to.  If you join their depression group, you'll see what the most popular treatments are and how effective people have found them. here's the link: http://dailystrength.org/c/Depression/su...  I've made lots of great friends there.

    hope that helps!

  3. Your doctor might need to up the dosage.

  4. Im on anti depression.

it helps like im losing also but it is called sertraline

  5. Go outside and get some sunlight exposure.

  6. You need to get to the root cause of the depression. Too often medical professionals take the short-cut and they don't treat causes. Here are some causes of depression:

    - Lack for close personal relationships

    - Psychological Issues treatable through cognative therapies

    - Stresses caused by short-term personal issues

    - Genetic predisposition to depression

    - Physical illness

    - Poor diet

    - Lack of exercise

There are probably other causes, but you do need to diagnose the problem rather than just put a drug band-aid over it. The first item and last two items are something you can start working on immediately. Exercise can be a far more effective treatment for depression than even the best drug. If you are healthy, begin escalating your exercise routing up to about 1 hour of aerobic exercise per day for five days each week.

Dr. Dean Ornish has written a book called "Love & Survival" that documents clinical studies that show enormous differences is survival rates between those who build a support system of caring people and those who are isolated. You should read this book and do something to improve the number and quality of the relationships that you have. He is also a exceptional author about diet. Americans tend to eat food that kills them slowly.

I'd continue to see a good doctor and find a good cognative therapist, however, diet, exercise, and supportive friends can of help with depression more than drugs and therapy. Please pick up a couple books by Dean Ornish and slowly begin an aerobic training program.
