i know that to adopt you need to terminate the father's paternity rights. what if you honestly don't know who the father is?

i was gang raped after having been drugged at a party & i didn't know any of them. even if i wanted to see them again i don't know where i could even start looking for them.

any thoughts?

  1. I am sorry for the pain you have been through. I will keep you in my prayers. Try to remember not all men are like this and one day you will be blessed with a beautiful relationship.

  2. The court can terminate on John Doe.  We just adopted a little one who we didn't know who the father was and they terminated on John Doe.

  3. I would seek legal advice since you don’t know the guys who raped you and anyone of them could be the father. Since you were unfortunately raped I’d hope that courts would just terminate. No rapist deserves rights to the child they created through this horrible act.  I certainly wouldn’t want my child to be raised by a rapist.

  4. I don't have any advice or experience for you, but wishing you the best of luck.

Perhaps by talking to the agency they can advise you on what you need to do.

    Warm thoughts.

  5. I would do all I could to find out their names so that I could get their A S S E S thrown in JAIL!!!!  Men like this do not deserve to still be walking free.  How many more women do they have to do this to before they are finally caught?

  6. Contact Catholic Social Services

They handle my cousin adoption, her pregnancy was due by rape, and in the same situation

They know what you need to do

They also found parents that were willing to handle the baby's father issue

  7. We had a case similar to yours where the birthfather's name is unknown.  The adoptive parents through the adoption agency have to hire private dectectives to trying find their names which is almost impossible.  Then i can't remember how many times but we had to put publications in the paper.  ex.  "if you were with a woman at a house party at this address during this month you might be a father please come forth to claim your child" (nothing personal is disclosed about you and you do not have to deal with them at all) After six months if no one came forth the birth fathers rights were automatically terminated forever.  That is at least how it works in the state of Wisconsin.

An adoption agency in your state can give you further info.   Good Luck to you.  I'm sooo sorry for what happened to you.  May God Bless You!

  8. Wow.  Kudos to you for even going through with the pregnancy and considering adoption.  This must be a difficult time for you.

Contact an attorney for the proper way to do this (or legal aid if you cannot afford an attorney).  Perhaps an adoption agency could assist you also.  If nothing else, make sure that you get yourself some counseling.  Have you tried any support groups for victims of rape?  You may want to start there.  I'm sure they have contact info that can help you with this question also.

Good luck to you and please take care of yourself and your baby.

  9. You poor thing. Same thing happened to me, except the pregnancy. Of course these scum bags won't come forward because then they'd be charged with rape and attempted murder. I would go to a rape crisis center, if you haven't been yet and I hope you have. They usually know judges (and even some have attorneys on staff who won't charge you) who won't victimize the victim and can bypass all of that legal mumbo-jumbo but still do it legally. Unless you live in my town, I would think you could find an advocate and cut through this red tape. I believe anyone in their right mind would terminate these criminals "rights".

My heart goes out to you and what you've been through. I'm so sorry. I don't think there's a cure for the PTSD (or at least I haven't heard of any) but I hope you are seeing someone and are in caring, safe hands. Hopefully you aren't having flashbacks. God, I pray that they get what's coming to them. Bless you and know that you are in my prayers. Godspeed.

eta: shame on the ones giving thumbs down in here particularly for this question. Don't you think she's been through enough? Why should she have to try to figure out the cruel games you play in here, on top of everything else? She asked for advice, not a stinking contest. If you'd bother reading your delusional enemies' answers, they are very similar to your gangs. You are just pouring alcohol in open wounds and are on the same level as rapists. You trolls make me sick.

lalababy: you  (& the 3 who gave you thumbs up, so far) need major help for your psychopathy and to be locked away far from humanity for the rest of your life/lives without parole in the same cell along with your rapist pals. Your profile and questions say it all.

  10. if that is the case and you really do not know there is now way to terminate the fathers rights

  11. There is a way it can be done. Contact an agency and they will help you through it.  Some state it is not a requirement but an agency will help you get through all the legal loop holes and pay for a lawyer and help you pick out a couple.
