  1. Get to the side of the road as quickly as you can, Put up your hood and trunk, Then turn on your hazard flashers if theres still battery power, and wait. Someone will come along.

  2. If you can't pull over to the side of the road, then just turn your hazards on and stay in your car, because that way if you get hit you won't be outside the car.  Or if your in the fast lane you can get out of your car and cross over the median and wait on that side.  Take a defensive driving class online if you are that nervous, it's only like 15 bucks, they tell you how to handle all the situations like that.

  3. Ask your folks if they have AAA. I would push for a cell phone, in today's world it is a necessity especially for emergencies. This is one of them.

What if God forbid you're hurt or attacked and you have no way of contacting your parents or the police, are your parents not concerned enough for your safety? When they get you a phone it will put both of your mind at ease- mine too for you.

  4. Pull to the shoulder if you can.... if you can't put on your four way flashers and call for help.

If you are on a major highway DO NOT get out of your car... that is how people get hurt.

Don't worry about inconveniencing people around you... worry about your safety.

  5. call 911

  6. I've always been terrified of this myself. It happened to me once on the way to the garage to get it fixed. It died. Right in the middle of traffic. But people actually get out to help you push it out of the way. I was lucky a cop pulled up in back of me and pushed it with their bumper. It was no fun. But I learned what happens!

  7. ahahaha I would start praying! This could be a realistic situation but you should probably get out of your car and go to the side of the road. Watch out that you don't get hit ha. Don't be scared to drive its real easy but focus on the road

  8. Well turn on your hazard lights first off. If there's somewhere off the road to push it to handy then the people behind you will usually help you do this. If there isn't then call a tow truck and wait. You will make a lot of people late but what else can you do.

  9. Try to get over to the shoulder as quickly as possible.  There's not much else you can do.  I understand;  I've been driving for 25 years and have had a lot of clunkers.   I've been in these situations, believe me.

Don't pay attention to any morons who seem upset because you may be blocking traffic or whatever.   They're idiots.

And I'll tell you this;  someone will be there quickly.   Another motorist is going to call the cops on his/her cell or some towing company who patrols the highway will show up.

Another thing is to try not to think about it.  Happy Motoring!

  10. keep trying to start it then ask if any one could help u push it out the way . then walk to the nearest phone

  11. Coast to the side of the road if possible; otherwise, push the vehicle off the road.

Borrow a cell phone from another driver or walk to the nearest emergency call box, coin-operated telephone, business with a phone, gas station with a tow truck, etc.

  12. well if your driving and it stops running then pull over the fastest and safest way to the right side of the road...if the traffic is not moving and it dies then turn on the flasher first... and hope you dont get run over..... staying in the car is safer... if you have the chance push it over as far as one can and wait

  13. I'm in college...CALL MOM!!! well try and get it to the side of the road somehow. if all else fails you call the police and they help devert traffic and get a tow truck immediatly. call tow truck first!

  14. First, try to coast your vehicle to the shoulder, out of harm's way.  If it truely is rush hour, then you can hope traffic will stop behind you.  If you can't get your vehicle out of traffic, put the 4-ways on and hold down the horn.  This will get people's attention.  You will likely get an offer of help from other motorists and/or someone will certainly call emergency services.

  15. If you have no cell phone, then turn on your flashers, get out of the car, move to a safe area, and call the police.  They will want to get your car out of the road.  It's dangerous to sit in your vehicle in this situation.

  16. Do your best to move it out of the way of traffic safely.  During rush hour you have the best chances of getting help so don't be afraid to drive or worry about it.  The best thing is to maintain your vehicle to avoid this problem in the first place.  Good luck.

  17. I would call the police and get out of my car and on the side of the road so that I wont get hit if I was in the car.  and then wait even thought my car might be damaged.

  18. Some things you can and should do if you suspect your car might die are:

    1. drive in the right hand lane whenever feasible and keep in the back of your mind to always have an "escape route" to get out of traffic if something happens.

    2. Get a cell phone and store the number of a tow company or a friend you trust to help you out... along with motorist assist/ hwy patrol etc.

    3. Keep some good walking shoes, a flashlight and a jacket in your care. It will probably be at night when it happens - while it's raining and you'll may have to walk.

    4. Be careful of who stops to help if you do get stranded. better to keep your windows up and doors locked until motorist assist or hwy patrol can arrive.

Whatever you do - be careful. don't let a little thing turn into something much worse!

  19. Calm down first, immediately alert the other users( of the road) of the hazard by all means possible. Follow the local laws of your city/state and get help as soon as possible. Be careful!. If you are in the freeway, don't be a hero, trying to fix the problem yourself, notify the authorities, and stay out of the way, until help comes.

  20. same as above but their is usually emergency phones on all motor ways in the UK so surely their will be an equiv, then you just use that emergency phone to get a recovery truck out.

Otherwise get some breakdown cover and have a mobile phone with you and a charger kit in the car.
