What to do if your toenail is coming off?

I am a runner and was breaking in a new pair of shoes, but I guess I did some damage to one of my toes. The nail has lifted from the bed in some areas and not in others. It is still attached to the bed on the sides and the very bottom, but the rest of the area is no longer attached. What should I do? I want to be sure that the nail will grow back as it was before, and I love to wear sandals, so anything I can do to prevent it from looking terrible in the foreseeable future would be great!

  1. It sounds like you have a fungus... You probably want to see a doc.
