Question:

What to do in Cancun, Mexico?

So my gf's company is taking her entire sales group and their significant others (me included Yay!) on an all expense paid trip to Cancun, Mexico at some Golf & Spa Resort called I think Blue Moon. Anyway it's a week long, besides getting drunk, laying out, golfing, and doing the spa thing..what else is there to do in Cancun, Mexico. Any places I must see/shop/visit, things I must do? places we must party at?

Anyway we're both in our younger 20s and in decent shape to take on more physical activities like scuba/climbing/snorkeling. I don't mind venturing out to cool areas either, as long as we get back in one piece. Anyway just welcoming all recommendations. I know our group has some list of excursions we can try, but my past experience with excursions have been real hit or miss... Thanks.

  1. Call the Cancun experts at 1-888-862-3806 or www.cancuncatamarans.com

  2. If you are staying at the Moon Palace then you will not be in Cancun's Hotel Zone. That being said, a trip to the zone might be a nice way for you to spend your day. There are several shopping malls with all kinds of great shopping options. There are also hundreds, and I do mean literally hundreds of restaurants to choose from as well.

As far as day trips, the Mayan ruins are always a major area attraction. I highly recommend you investigate the sites of Chichen Itza and Tulum. The site of Tulum is coupled with a stop off at an eco park, I highly recommend Xel-Ha over Xcaret for two reasons. Xel-Ha offers an all inclusive meal plan which will save you lots of money, and Xcaret, while being an excellent park, is too large to see in a half day. I also recommend you investigate tours with Dolphin Discovery dolphin swim and the unique swim with whale sharks. I am not sure if the site is up and running yet but bookmark this one for information with the best company to do that tour, http://www.swimwithwhalesharks.com and also http://www.dtraveller.com/affiliates/ind... should be checked out for tour prices and options.

    Have fun planning your vacation,

  3. There is this really nice outdoor shopping center called "La Isla" and that was a great place to go before or after dinner. I think the pub crawl goes through there too.

I also suggest snorkeling and/or swimming with dolphins at Isla de Mujeres (take a ferry) or drive down to Xel-ha, which is like an hour and a half south if I recall.

You can also go to Cozumel, catch the ferry in Playa del Carmen...you can walk around Cozumel for the day (or rent a moped and ride around the island)

    Have fun! I'm jealous!

  4. Go to Xhel-ha. Its so much fun and a great way to spend a day. They have a website to where you can check it out. It was the highlight of my trip. Also when you arrive there will be a desk where you can look through a bunch of day trips that are offered.

  5. Well, you could go to Xpu-ha, go to Isla Mujeres and in Isla Mujeres you could swim with the Dolphins, go Snorkeling. The most i could tell you is eat all day. LOL!! :) you could also go to xcaret, and to the Pyramids.

If you need to book a flight here is a website:

www.travelocity.com good deals there, but you better book it if you are cuz if not i gotta tell you the prices are gonna go up.

                                    bye,lexiewexy1 ;)

Stay cool and Hope this info helped

                      have a great vacation!!

  6. For shopping, go to Mercado 28. It's more of an open-air market type of thing, where you barter with the vendors and can buy all sorts of things. There are several shopping areas that are designed for tourists, but they are more like American malls with designer/expensive/typical shops and stores.

If you have an entire day, I would take a trip down to Xcaret, which is like an ecological theme park. You can snorkel, swim with dolphins, see ruins, enjoy a Mayan style show, and see local flora and fauna. This is one thing I particularly enjoy because there is so much to do there, however it is quite a drive from Cancun down the Riviera Maya. Usually you can hook up with a tour that will go by luxury bus.

If you're looking for adventure, try the ziplining tour at Selvatica. You zipline through the canopy, then take a short mountain bike trek to a cenote where you can swim, and they serve lunch. This was a half day escursion. There is really a lot to do there, and usually every hotel will have a booth with tour information so you can take a look at what appeals to you. The first time I went to Cancun, I just played it by ear and did whatever I felt like doing at the time. It was great!

    Enjoy!
