  1. In Corner Brook ask for directions to Margaret Bowater Park and take the kids there.  It is a favorite hangout for kids in the summer - swimming, a playground, etc.  They will find other kids to play with there.

There are also trails for hiking.  Corner Brook has lots of hills so be prepared for that in walking around town.  There is a sports complex in town - can't remember the name, but it is up the hill from Margaret Bowater Park - and there may be events happening there.  There are two swimming pools, close to the sports complex -  so that is an option as well.

If you have time drive along the Humber River to Marble Mountain (about 10 to 15 minutes outside of town) and see the ski hill facility - they may have events for kids happening there in the summer.   Just before you get to Marble Mountain you will pass the site of the "old man in the mountain" - a rock formation that looks like the face of an old man - people find that interesting.

If you have time drive to Gros Morne National Park to the Interpretation Center in Woody Point - a great place for kids.   Continue on from Woody Point toward Trout River and seen the Tablelands - a totally awesome landscape.  If you do that trip it will take a day.

On the way to Gros Morne you will pass the community of Cormack.  Detour just a minute or so off the road toward Cormack and you will come to a waterslide at Funland.  That is about an hour from Corner Brook.

Best of luck and enjoy the trip.
