I love the 60s era culture and music. I'm planning on stopping at Amoeba Music, but I don't know what else. Cool shops? Vintage rock clothing stores?

  1. If possible, walk from GG Park down Haight all the way to Fillmore. You will pass many interesting shops and weirdness. Some great old homes and interesting nooks you will stumble across along the way.

  2. Haight Asbury is an area full with filthy shops and cafes. I wouldn't eat there. The houses have beautiful architecture though.

  3. They got a lot of cool shops, interesing people and its just a fun environment...The panhandle and golden gate park are right around the corner too, but mainly just check out the cool shops

  4. A must is hippie hill, which is Golden Gate Park, there are many things going on , music, 420, people watching.  A better question is what ISN'T there to do.  The shops have really changed to many non cool shops.  They have a great haunted Haight tour.  Aardvark used clothing, Buffalo exchange, N.Y. apparel are some interesting stores.  I don't know if you have been to the Haight, but you might be disappointed, it's filthy and there are a bunch of homeless tweekers everywhere.

  5. Besides touristy shops, over priced used clothing stores, or scoring some acid not much. Check the calender at the SF Gate and see about catching a show or checking out the activities in Golden Gate Park, there are some great concerts.

  6. Pretend it's 1967 and drop some acid.
