I am 18 and my bf is 24. we are traveling to London/paris in late august early sept. One, will we be able to get in most clubs/bars and where are the best located? and two, what is the weather like in each city? Also, any suggestions on where to stay and what to do during the day would be fantastic! thanks!

  1. London - SoHo, Camden, and Notting Hill are good areas for nightlife.

Paris - The Avenue Oberkampf area in Menilmontant has a very good bar scene.

London - The Tower of London is a must, and there are many excellent museums: the Museum of London, British Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum, National Gallery...  Oxford or the Hampton Court Palace make good day trips.  Also there's a lot of live theater.

Paris - The Musee d'Orsay and the Louvre are incredible, the churches Notre Dame and Sainte Chapelle, Montmartre for views of the city, the Eiffel Tower and Bateau Mouches boat around central Paris are touristy but well worth doing, and take day trips to Versailles or Chartres.

  2. Sit in your hotel room and watch reruns of Benny Hill on a rotary k**b TV - that is living UK style !

  3. Weather is likely to be good, sunny and warm, but can be rainy and cool any time of the year.

So bring long trousers and a light rainproof jacket.

At 18, or older, you will be legal age, but clubs often have an other reason to limit entry, so if they want a more mature crowd they can set the entry age to 20 or 25 or whatever.

Mostly girls can get in younger than the set age, but not all the time.

Ask where you stay for good clubbing in the area, but do not expect to get into the top clubs, as the most popular ones are by invitation only. (And no way to get those invitations unless you are a popstar.)

Both London and Paris are famous for sight seeing, museums and famous buildings.

So select a few from the travel guides, (or websites) and see those.

Both towns also have city tour buses, both the hop-on hop-off kind and the stay aboard kind. I know Paris has tickets that are valid for 2 days, maybe London has those too. That way you have easy transport, with explanations, while you roam the city. Otherwise, both towns have a travelpass with reductions on museums and tourist attractions, for one to 5 days.

Where to stay is the hardest to answer, as there are so many options, and non cheap.

So go to a hotel booking site and see what is there in your budget.

In Paris I have stayed in the Marais, which is in the center of town but still quiet, but if you like clubbing it might not be your choice.
