  1. You haven´t said how long you will be here for or where you are staying.

There is much to do in this area if you have the time to explore. If you are staying in the Málaga area the best way to go to Granada is via the coast road to Motril and then up through the Sierra Nevadas. Leaving Málaga don't take the motorway to Granada, stay on the Almeria road.

Once you approach Granada there will be excellent road signs to take you to the Alhambra Palace & Generalife. Bear in mind you have to book in advance at certain times of the year. http://www.alhambradegranada.org/guias/a...

On the way to Granada you will pass the town of Nerja. It is my favourite town by the sea in Spain. Behind Nerja is the pueblo blanco of Frigillana, which is reckoned to be the most beautiful village in Andalucia.

To the west of Málaga you have so much developement. There are towns all the way to Marbella. Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Mijas Costa and into Marbella. Further west of Marbella there is Puerto Banus. It is well worth going there for a visit, but beware, it is very expensive. Further on you come tp San Pedro de Alcantara. FRom San Pedro you can take the mountain road to Ronda, or another road which you take from Marbella near the La Cañada shopping centre to the mountain village of Ojen. Carry on from Ojen and take a side turning to the Refugio de Juanar. This road will take you up a mountain to a hotel. It is quite idyllic up there. You can also walk to the Mirador (viewpoint). From there you can see Marbella way below you and North Africa in the distance.

I live in this area and I'm so very fortunate to be here. I could tell you more about each place, but it really depends on what you want to do. I think it's great you want to explore because most tourists never leave the beach.

Email me if you want to know anything specific.

  2. There is a lot to do in Malaga. The beaches are just beautiful, and very rarely will there be a lot of tourists. In the towns, there is great shoping, and the people are very friendly.

E-mail me if you want to know some events for that evening, I don't know right now.
