  1. Go to the Melbourne Visitor Centre in Federation Square, and ask at the counter. Tell them what your interested in and they can give you leaflets, walks, discount vouchers etc. and book any tours if you wish to do so.

A quick overview of things to do are:

    Dracula's

    Melbourne Gaol

Night Time tour of all the hidden bars

    Chocolate tour

    Great Ocean Road tour

    Sovereign Hill Tour

    Wine Tour

    Neighbours tour

Visit Eureka Skydeck and do The Edge

The city has great architecture, parks, exhibitions etc.

    Cinemas

    Theatre

Gigs - magazine comes out every thursday- has everything that is on in the city and suburbs - ask at the counter again- think its called Impress

Try the Belgium Beer bar at Eureka Tour

    Visit the Crown Casino complex

Visit the MCG, Roda Laver Arena and Telstra Dome if interested in sport

Go shopping - Bridge Rd, Collingwwod, Southern Cross Station DFO, Melbourne Central, Bourke Street, Collins St,GPO Building etc etc

Take the free shuttle bus wed- sun to Chadstone shopping centre

Walk through the arcades and lanes. Great little cafes, shops etc.

Lots more do to - just a few ideas - have fun!

  2. I love visiting Melbourne for holidays, here's some suggestions:

    - Penguins at Phillip Island

    - Sovereign Hill

    - Colonial Tramcar restaurant

    - The city circle tram

    - The free city tour bus

    - Queen Victoria Markets

    - Bridge Rd Richmond - Discount shopping

    - DFO - Discount Factory Outlet on Spencer St

    - Melbourne Central

    - Chapel St

    - Bourke St mall

    - Other city shops

    - China town, was there for new year was amazing

    - Southbank

    - Docklands

    - St Kilda beach

    - Geelong

    - Cruise on the Yarra

    - Skydeck

    - Catch a game of AFL or see the mighty Storm.

    - Draculas

    - Comedy Club

There is definitely plenty to do in Melbourne, you won't get enough time.

  3. Go see the Footy at the MCG. Footy is Australia's national sport and was first played near  the MCG. It is the religion of Melbourne and the MCG its cathedral

Then go down to StKilda and drop into the espy to catch a band

  4. Sight-see, immerse yourself in their culture. You can approach the tourism counter at the airport (assuming you are flying in) and get a map. Or you could log on to the internet by typing "Melbourne, Australia" and you'll get lots of ideas.
