Tell me all the things that I can do in Munich, skip the muesems and historic stuff, I want to have a good time. I have 11 days, tell me where to go, what to see, and who to meet. I want to go clubbing and to the bars. I am going during the World Cup so do you know how to get some cheap tickets? Also should I bring a knife for all the hooligans that are going to be there?

  1. Go to the Schwabing area of Munich--there will be less tourists, and there are a lot of cool cafes, shops, and clubs.

  2. Kunstpark Ost used to be THE disco mecca --- but watch out, it closed down a couple of years ago. I'm no longer so current on the best night spots - so take other people's recommendations - but know that Kunstpark is no more!

Also - the Hofbräuhaus is SO touristy... during the World Cup the beergardens (Biergarten) will be open if it's not raining, check out Augustiner (near the main train station) and Hirschgarten (near to Nymphenburg).

Also - definately take one of Mike's Bike Tours soon after you arrive, they are a lot of fun, will give you a good overview of the city, the guides will have good current tips on "in" places, and you are likely to meet other cool people to hang out with during your stay.

    Have fun!

  3. Munich is a great city i have been there once. you should defenately go to the hofbräuhaus. its a fun place to drink and party. but it closes at midnight. later on u can go to a place called kunstpark thats where all the clubs are at

  4. There is no secondary market for Fifa tickets. You either got them via a draw from the official site (fifaworldcup.com) or you don't. They can't be resold so ebay.de won't have them. Buy (or better try to buy) the ticket before you go to Germany. Also you should be aware that flights will be very expensive duringh the World Cup season. Munich will be crowded. Chances are you see more tourists than natives.

Don't worry about Hooligans, they won't have tickets anyway.

Munich is about culture. If you travel half around the world I think you should see some than bars. Check the 4004 (www.viertausendvier.de), the Nachtcafe and maybe the NightFlight near the Munich airport (www.night-flight.de). Kunstpark Ost is a whole area with a dozen clubs.
