I arrive at charles de gaulle (CDG) airport on sunday at 3pm

and my flight to JFK is at 9 the next morning. Can you suggest

an area of Paris that would be easy to get to by train, would be

safe, have good restaurants and perhaps entertainment

and would be interesting and safe to walk around late at night

  1. Take the RER (the light rail system) from CDG to the St. Michel stop and you'll be in the Latin Quarter. Notre Dame will be visible when you exit the RER station.

This area is very lively even on a Sunday and there's lots to see and do. Its also quite safe and you need have no worries just wandering around even very late at night.

  2. Get the paris tube.

I've forgot the exact name of the stop at eiffel tower but it'll tell you on the map on the train where to get off. go to the tower, climb it at night, really romantic and there is a great view.

Then depending on what you liek you could o to the arc de triomph and napoleon military museam with his tomb there or something. theres also a riverboat you can take (worth it) and then go to a nice little bistro or something :D
