I'm going to Portsmouth this weekend Saturday - Sunday and i'm wondering what there is to do there. We usually stick around Southsea where me and my dad can watch the shipping but as this is actually a weekend break i was wondering is there any attractions to go to? I've been to Victory, Action Stations and all the Royal Navy museums, so any one with experience know i nice, fun place to go to?

(this is not for children either)

Thank you very much for your answers :)

  1. Counting seagulls

  2. Sleep

  3. Shopping at Gunwharf, bowling, pool, boat trip around the bay.  Check out the Tourist information centre website for Portsmouth to see if there are any special events on. Have fun and take a raincoat!

  4. Have you been up spinnaker tower yet?  Its definitely worth a visit.  Or how about the Mary Rose?  I've not been yet, but it looks interesting.

Um....theres the greyhound racing also in the evenings.  Or a walk around old Portsmouth - there s a fish market in the harbour there, also a couple of good pubs, and you can walk around the old castle or whatever it is thats on the beach there.

Or you could get out of Portsmouth and go visit somewhere near by such as Chichester?  It has a cathedral, nice shops etc.

EDIT: oh yeah, as the person above me says you can take a boat up along side all the navy ships and the such like.  I went on it recently and it was well worth a trip!  If you like the navy and ships you should enjoy that.

  5. You can take the ferry to France
