  1. Day trips:

    Visit the Maya ruins at Tulum and Coba.

    Go snorkling at Xel Ha.

    Float the underground river, see the shows and swim with the dolphins at Xcaret.

    And if you have the time, take the bus trip to Chichen Itza--it's a long trip but well worth it.
