I am visiting Rome in about a month. We arrive on a Sunday and many of the major sites will be closed. What is available to do in Rome, Italy on a Sunday. I know the Catacombs are an option. Would love to hear some other suggestions.

  1. "When in Rome do as the Romans"

  2. One thing I can recommend you to walk on Old Roads in Rome. Wander the Appia Antica. coz Sunday most of Roads are closed for vehicles, so travelers can enjoy their walking without hassles and bustles.

another thing you can do, attend to Sunday Mass with pope also good thing in Rome

  3. Hi I'm Italian and I live in Rome.... during Sunday the best thing to do is walking arround the centre all shops in via del Corso r open and also some of the museums arround this area r open.... Walk from Colosseo, Fori Imperiali and then jump to Venice Square (where u can admir unbeliveble view of my city this till 5pm), then go to Via del Corso and Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps.... Leave the Vatican city for the next days because on Sunday u can visit only the Basilic if there r not some particular holly messa (if u r interested to see the Pope and listen to him  u must be in front of S. Petro at 12a.m.).

most of the beautiful things in Rome r down street so no problem if in this day the museums r closed... I'm sure u'll enjoy yr staing (I hope so) and u'll love our food and sunny Sunday day!!!

    ciao ciao!!!
