I'm going to be in Salamanca for a month this summer studying. Does anyone know of any cool things to do besides all of the super torist-y things (for people around the age of 18 yrs. old). For example, any good stores or restaurants or cafes or parks? Also, what of the torist-y stuff is worth seeing? Thanks!!

  1. Salamanca for me didn't seem very touristy...There are a lot of students there from all over the world because it would be considered a college town because of the Universidad de Salamanca...one of the oldest universities in all of Europe.  There are lots of churches there...ask about the frog.  Salamanca has great shopping.  H&M being my favorite among the many stores there.  There is a bowling alley there, lots of clubs, check out the theaters.  They have lots of great cultural events that go on all the time.  I enjoyed them.  I went to a lot of restaurants and cafes and loved all of them...not one of them was bad.  You can walk everywhere.  I also recommend taking a bus for a day to a nearby town too...Avila is nice.  It is easy to figure out Salamanca once you are there.  If you are trying to learn the language, I also suggest going to the movie theater.  The movies are dubbed in Spanish.  Good luck and hope this helped some.
