If you had a 7 hour layover at Dublin airport would you leave the airport?is the city center near?and what would you do in those 7 hours

Im guessing actually 4 hours would be spent touring as 2 hours are calculated Roundtrip to the airport and another 1 hour for the security checks.

Thanks

  1. Go to Trinity College, see the Book of Kells, Half Penny Bridge, Temple Bar area.

  2. The airport is to the North of the City

At the top of that link is the airport and the bottom is the city, now in 7 hours you might be ok to leave the airport and hop on a bus that goes to the city but you shouldnt spend too long in the city as traffic can be a nightmare and head back WELL in advance of your flight.

If you get an aircoach http://www.aircoach.ie/

you shouldnt be more than 45 mins travelling.

  3. you could go to Swords its only 5 minutes from the airport by bus (the number 41) it has a shopping mall restaurants pubs, an old castle and parks, its a very nice place

  4. 7 hours sounds alot but in Dublin you have to contend with the dreaded M50( our main transport route). which is gridlocked most of the day and often gets shut down altogther. the city center is only 15 Min's away in light traffic but depending on what time you are arriving and departing it might not be worth it, if I were you I would check into a near-by hotel, have a shower, a nap a bit of grub and a few pints, it might not be as exciting as city center, but you will not miss your flight, dublin airport can be a nightmare at times. do not take the risk
