  1. How about you try closing the windows and covering them with your blinds/drapes. Also, put on a video and watch a movie together with your child. Find some way to distract and make her forget about the storm! Also, reassure her that mommy is here for her and that she will protect her no matter what. :)

  2. Just keep him distracted and play music and play around so he doesn't associate bad weather with bad...

  3. Just hold your daughter close to you (your body will feel like protection), and soothe her.  Tell her your house is safe from lightning--there are pipes and wires and things in the walls of the house, it can't hurt her.

To be honest  with you, I'm wading through this  thunderstorm and lightning stuff mysefl right now trying to learn the facts.  I THOUGHT I understood it all, but now I'm not so sure.....

The last  humongous thunderstorm we had?  [but, I mean, THIS was a POW POW POW BIGGY.  Even my engineer husband backed away from the windows--I've NEVER seen him do that before!  And  I ended up trembling in the closet with my dog!

But all you can do is hold your daughter and reassure her everything will be okay.  And stay away from telephones, metal bathtub fixtrues, etc.

  4. If there is serious wind you need to find a room with Little or no glass OR if you have a basement stay there. If necessary I have heard of people covering them selfs with a bed in the bathtub.

  5. It depends what you are in.

    A Car: Pull over

A House: Get Away from Windows
