What to do in a small town?

I am bored out of my mind! My good friend and I want to do something! We have access to a car, but we don't know where to go. So my question is what is an adventure we can take in a small town? We really don't live near any lakes or mountains. We are close to Canada. We have two dogs, we are up for any adventure, so we aren't afraid to get dirty. What are some possibilities that we can do? We want an adventure! Something fun! And not something that would cost a lot of money. Just a fun, nature filled weekend or day adventure.

Any suggestions would be great!

Canoing, hiking, 4-wheeling, motor biking,

I always enjoyed going to the Hardees with my grandpa and drinking coffee with him and the other old men...

Raise a garden.  Got to the city for a break.
