What to do in florence Italy with little money?

I will be there 9/22 for 3 days..What is the best way to see the cityand what should I see.I will not have time or money to see it all ?

I consider 3 days will be sufficient to see a large part of what Florence can offer, mainly if you've little money and then you need to limit as much as possible to pay for the entrance to museums,churches,ect.

Florence is a pretty small town and highlights are mostly concentraded in an area of nor 2 miles x side so you can easily visit it by walking. There are also public buses to reach the farest areas and ticket is very cheap (look for tourists discounted tickets). In general take ice creams (gelato) or whatever you would like to eat (pizza, sandwiches, hot dogs) out of tourist routes. It's enough you move 2-3 blocks from there and you'll pay the half for a tastier food.

Also for restaurants it's the same talk; avoid the big ones (chose instead those called 'trattoria') but outside of the crowded points.

Also suburban pizzerias have prices half of the tourist places and over there you'll enjoy it much better being attented by the Itaian residents .

As an alternative you should buy bread and cheese (or jam or whatever you would prefer) at the supermarkets (in Florence ,in strict order of convenience, there are Coop , Esselunga, Panorama and Conad).

They're really cheap and what you'll spare you could devote to the tickets of museums or other places since practically nowhere you can enter for free. Otherwise you can just keep walking on the midtown, in the narrow medieval streets, or just give an external look to all the monuments and sites (Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore, Campanile di Giotto, il Battistero, Santa Maria Novella, Chiesa di Santa Croce, Palazzo della Signoria, il Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti, Giardino dei Boboli, S:Miniato al Monte church, Piazzale Michelangelo, Fiesole). If you are on a limited budget this is what you can do but I would save the money necessary for the tickets at least to the Galleria degli Uffizi and The Accademia (where is the David - statue by Michelangelo).To sleep you can book an hostel or a B&B- This is a good website for low cost accomodations.

Take a guide book and read it before getting there so you would know where you have to go and what you have to see. We rented a bike, and boght bread ,cheese and ham and fixed sandwiches and milk. Have a great trip!!

Florence is an expensive city, but sightseeing and strolling around is free. Since Florence is a an open sky museum, there's a lot to see. And remember that the cheaper (or not so expensive...) places to eat are those where locals eat, not tourists. Anyway a simple pasta dish is always affordable and quite delicious. :-)

Just walk and walk and walk-all of Firenze (Florence) is a sight to behold. The only thing that you want to pay for is going to see David at the Accademia-go late afternoon to avoid the crowds.
