What to do instead on hemming?

Question

is there some kind of glue I can use instead of hemming fabric?

the best I came up with is clear fingernail polish lol

which would look nice I think on what I'm making....

just looking to keep the edges from fraying without a ton of sewing.

I worked in fast food for years & the pants they would give you were always 10 inches longer then your legs.  Most fabric stores have Fabric Tack.  This is a glue that you can use to hem fabric with.  I have not had a sewing machine in over 20 years but always, always had perfect hems.  I probably used 2 or 3 gallons of this stuff over the years.  It seems to last nearly forever and, if it ever fails (multiple washings of the fabric, soaking in water, etc), just make sure the fabric is dry & do it again.

Just try not to get too much on your skin, it is a lot like super glue in that it needs to wear off your skin, trust me, I know!!!

There's a spray you use on the edges to prevent them from fraying.

There's hemming tape you iron on.

You can hem by hand.

You can use pinking shears. Scissors with teeth .

Or..you can use the blanket tape from the link.That would look nice,too, but needs sewing.

Fabric stores usually carry adhesive hemming tape that you bond with an iron.  The heat sets it , when it is placed over the hem.

I'd go with iron on hem tape, myself.  It should be in with the various notions, like pins and stuff.
