  1. maybe PE or tell them to bring in games from home to play .

  2. Have your students write a letter to the one teacher that has meant the most to them during the year.  Make them be specific about why they chose that person and what that person has done to help them.  Then, give them extra credit if they'll allow you to actually deliver those letters to the teacher.

  3. Cupcakes everybody loves them. take unfrosted cupcakes and have the students decorate their own cupacake and watch a movie.

  4. It would help if you said which grade you teach.

  5. as a student i would prefer a teacher to allow students to play and talk to the teacher for anything they would like to ask any teacher. Like suggestion or future planning.

  6. How about something like Valentine's day where everyone writes each other nice notes and swaps them.  You could do a time capsule or have them write letters of advice to the students you have next year.  Maybe a Top 10 List of things they learned in class.

  7. I'm not a teacher, but I'm a student and I love it when teachers either do:

a.) Talk about the year and crack in some jokes.

b.) Bring in food as an end of the year party.

    c.) Simply watch a movie!

d.) Sign yearbooks or memory books and just chill out!

I think that every student just like me likes to do all!

    Hope this helps!

  8. Give awards, clean the room, play games together, share favorite memories of the year, collect books, put away stuff, affirm and enjoy each other as friends!

  9. I think you should ask the kids to bring in their favourite board games to play and set them up like centres. Also you can give them some blank sheets so they can autograph each other's papers (like a year book for their class)and maybe give out some treats (or they can bring in treats and have a party near the end of the day).

  10. I teach middle school and only had a half day.  This is what we did:

I gave them all rags and they cleaned desks, lockers, dusted bookcases in the classroom and in the library & computer lab.

We went outside for a wild game of whiffleball.

Then we came back inside and had some cupcakes and juice while I handed out "class superlatives" which we voted on the day before. (I made sure everyone won at least one. I also allowed for "write in" superlatives that I didn't list. I made sure I omitted the write ins like "most like to be seen on FBI's Most Wanted" or "Drama King/Queen")

I let them all write a "goodbye message" on the board that they could read when them come back in the Fall.

Then we talked about plans for the summer and before you know it--the morning was done!

  11. show a movie

    play board games

    outside/playground time

    small quiet group activities

    art projects

  12. If you're a high school teacher you should probably let them watch a movie (even invite another class over) and during the movie let them fill out little informal teacher/class evaluations. Get some good suggestions for next year.
