Question:

What to do regarding work ethic?!!?

I requested this upcoming friday off from work about 2 weeks ago to take photos at a wedding. Turns out I'm actually not going to be doing that wedding but I'd still like to have that day off, it's the weekend before my birthday as well. Should I just keep the day off without saying I don't absolutely need it off, or should I tell them honestly I'm not doing the wedding but I'd still like to have it off since I did make the request 2 1/2 weeks ahead of time and it's my b-day weekend? So basically tell them the truth or just keep it off? Is it really a big deal either way?

  1. Here is the question.  By taking this day off, will it cause problems?  Did the employer give you this day off as a special favor because you had this photo thing?  If so, then you may want to work that day.

If not, then enjoy the day.

  2. its none of your employers beeswax what you do on your day off, its annual leave and they neednt know a thing.

  3. Your employer has no need to know what you are doing on your day off.  If you have the time accrued and your work schedule allows you, take it.  You do not have to explain what you do on your days off.

Take the time off and enjoy.
