Well yesterday I went to the movies and during 2 hours I ate some junk food such as sweet ricey things, sugary things and sugarfree gum. [although it should be noted that sugarfree gum can rip out, although slowly, fillings]

There was no pain when I got home and went to sleep 3 hours later. I also ate some cold yogurt, probably with sugar in it. Then I went to sleep, slept for about 3 hours or so but like, it was uncomfortable.

I woke up and I had a bad pain around my left side of mouth and my cheek was mediumly swollen and it was hot.

I had trouble sleeping so I just tumbled and fell asleep 2 or so hours later.

When I woke up it still hurt but not as much, so I mouthwashed that side with baking soda and salt and water, but it didn't really help, well maybe it did.

Then I drank some milk and am trying to avoid crunchy chocolatey and sugary things.

Then I grated some Advil [pill] and put it around the tooth area and then after 45 minutes I ate pizza. When I bit down or chewed on that side it hurt and had a numb raw pain. I swallowed 1/3 of a pill and put some around the tooth area.

It's better but not good.

[ THE TOOTH ]

I knew it was that tooth even though the pain like radiated around that part by touching and feeling were it was hurt.

I had a filling there before and 2 months ago the tooth filling sort of began to like well one side of it a little crack was there and now it fell off, it is black in some little places.

I am in grade 7 and have an appointment with dentist at friday at noon, and I can't get a earlier appointment [I don't trust other dentists, and this dude knows me] and I can't put like herbs on it or asprin, just advil since tylenol makes my temp creazy.

is it a cavity [probably, like 95% yes] and what to do??

  1. The best thing will be to have your tooth evaluated by a dentist.  You already have an appointment. Keep it. If you are not allergic, take Tylenol and Advil for discomfort. Take one or the other every two hours and keep alternating taking Tylenol and Advil every two hours as needed for pain.

  2.       It can take quite a long time for cavities to decay deep enough to expose the nerve endings and cause pain; however, once a toothache begins, the pain in unbearable. Unfortunately, getting an emergency dental appointment for a toothache is next to impossible, so chances are you may have to bear with the pain for awhile until you can get your cavity taken care of. A few simple tips can help you relieve pain caused by cavities while awaiting your needed dentist appointment.

    InstructionsDifficulty: Moderate

    Things You’ll Need:

    Toothpaste, floss and mouthwash

    Ice cube

    Cotton balls

    Clove extract

    Temporary cavity filler

Step1Brush and floss around the affected tooth thoroughly and rinse your mouth with mouthwash. While these are obvious steps to good dental hygiene, they are particularly important to relieve the pain caused by cavities. Excess acid build-up in the mouth as well as food particles trapped in the cavity can quickly aggravate a toothache.

Step2 Hold an ice cube in your mouth until it melts, placing it on your tongue near painful cavities. While your pain may be aggravated by cold, this step will help to numb your mouth and your taste buds for a few minutes while you apply the bitter yet pain-relieving clove extract.

Step3 Soak a cotton ball in clove extract and hold the cotton between any teeth which have painful cavities. Clove oil is extremely bitter and may sting for a few minutes, but it will help to numb the nerve endings and effectively relieve pain. Hold the clove soaked cotton ball over the cavities for at least 15 minutes.

Step4      Fill the cavity with a temporary cavity filler. Temporary filler comes in a variety of brands and can be purchased in most pharmacies. The filler will need to set for a few hours before you eat or drink, and will only last a day or so; however, it will prevent food and acid build-up inside cavities and will help protect the nerve endings, relieving pain.

Step5Repeat these steps every day or so until you can see your dentist.

i hope it helps casue i hate cavities but hope everything goes good for u

  3. well. if you had a filling in that tooth before and its black spotting then you will either a. need a root canal or b. have the tooth pulled.

most likely if the tooth can be saved they will do a root canal (endodontic treatmen i think) where they go in and preserve the tooth basically.

and i know what u mean about not trusting doctores but make sure ya find someone u do trust i went 6 yrs without the dentist ad i needed a tooth pulled and 6 cavities and a root canal...

    not fun
