  1. It's going to depend on what kind of program you want, how competitive of a med school you want to get into and your high school grades.  The best thing you can do is research "pre-med" programs (there are several different lenghts depending on the school and how they combine programs.) Most of them will give you a recommendation for what they'd like to see for your undergrad major.  They'll also tell you if you can do your undergrad, pre-med, med school and residency all at their school (Like Johns Hopkins, University of Pennsylvania).  After your residency, there might be a few more years depending on your specialty.

Talk to your guidance councilor NOW! no matter how old you are (jr high, high school ect).  You need to be in AP/ Honors/ and the best college prep work to make you competitive (and so you have the basics and aren't swamped your freshman year).  You'll also want to start looking for local scholarships to FUND this :p  (some things, like Kwannis require several years of community work to be eligible, so look like freshman year in addition to jr/sr year)

  2. any college that has a major in pre-med.  4 years undergrad, 4 years med school, and more years to be a specialist or surgeon
